The Rules of People: Part 3

با این که از مختصرِ چنین حرف هایی در موردِ قواعدِ مربوط به مردم چیزِ چندانی بیرون نمی آید، بویژه وقتی که ترجمه هم نشده باشد، و از این عیب سرگردان کننده تر این که فقط عنوان و جمله ی قصاری از اصلِ بحث نقل شده باشد، شاید حُسنِ مطالعه ی همین حدّ از موضوع در این باشد که فکر خواننده را در هنگامِ خوانش و ترجمه مشغول و و حساس و دقیق تر می کند و به جاهایی می برد که مفصل تر از مقالاتِ دو صفحه ایِ ریچارد تمپلار بیندیشد:  

21.Square pegs don’t fit in round holes. The only solution that works is to change the hole, because a square peg will always be a square peg.

22.Wild and wacky isn’t always fun. They’re trying to distract themselves from some part of their lives or themselves that can’t cope with.

23.It’s hard being 13. If you ignore the context, it’s much harder to understand why people behave as they do.

24.They’ll shout if you do. If you expect your kids to do it, why on earth are you not doing it yourself?

25.Resaponsibility creates independence. It’s about not feeling you have to dump your worries, your decisions, your laundry on someone else.

26.Teenagers hate you because they love you. Becoming a grown-up is emotionally hard work.

27.Talking is what matters. They need to do this growing up stuff by themselves, mistakes and all.

28.Listening is what matters. Listen to what they’re telling you. That doesn’t mean pausing until they’re finished talking.

29.No one likes saying sorry. What matters is how they feel and how they act, not the words they say.

30.The world is full of rebels. Telling them what to do can backfire.

31.Some weirdos are great people. All these people are doing is being themselves in every situation.
